I usually recommend putting a small concrete block, barring it fits the overall design of the patio, around the tipping points of the heater. I've seen some people drill the heater legs into the patio flooring, but I wouldn't recommend it because of possible damages and cracks to the patio in the long run.

These and misters in the summer for hot places amaze me at how warm/cool they can get their surroundings. It makes being outside in winter actually bearable if there isn't any wind factor. Do you have to put these in doors when it snows/rains? They can sometimes be a pain to move.

I recommend the fixed heating systems. They've been proven much safer than portables and are more convenient that replacing gas tanks periodically. Your gas bill may increase, but the convenience of using the home gas line for power is well-worth the cost.

This is a great article, and especially relevant with Fall just around the corner. It's good to be aware of the pros and cons when buying a heater, and to know which ones are the more expensive ones is always a plus. Thanks for the article!
