Hi Jared. I'm not aware of any way to straighten metal studs without removing sheetrock from the walls. I'm actually wondering if the problem might be something else other than bent metal studs as it can take a lot to bend the type of studs used in a commercial building.
I am trying to hang a 10lb object from my ceiling. I have popcorn ceilings and a flat roof. My stud finder is not helping, I even measured 16" from the south and the west walls and tried putting a nail up to see if I could find it and no stud. How do I find a stud? Do I even need to secure it into one at that weight? Thanks!
I was hanging stuff in the garage, and could not find the studs. The first one was 12 inches from the corner, then 16, then 13 1/2, then 15, then 14, etc. I needed the stuff hung further down, so after a lot of small nail holes, I cut some sheet rock off of the bottom. I found a 2-by-4 stud, and the next was 14 1/2 inches away, and the next stud was a 4-by-4, not a 2-by-4. Any reason for this headache?
