Without seeing the problem and the bids side by side, it is tough to say if one solution is better than the other. I understand the reasoning behind each solution and they both seem like reasonable fixes. I would suggest just the installation of a new drip edge that extends
I am looking at buying a house with asbestos shingles and was thinking about removing them or covering them for stone facing. Do you have an estimate on how much this will cost?
My house is 17 years old, we are the original owners. There are no leaks but the original strip shingles are starting to curl up. Roof has two pretty steep valleys that are wearing down through the shingles. I live in the country with a farm field surrounding, with nothing to stop the wind. Should I just replace the roof completely or re-shingle?
My roof is about 2500 square feet. How much will it cost to replace a shingle roof per square feet? I know there are a lot of factors in this. I just need a cost range. Thanks!
We need to replace our roof and are considering a metal roof as an option. I have had several different options recommended. 1) Old shingles removed first, 2) Metal roof right over top of existing roof, 3) Metal roof attached to 2 by 4 frame placed over top of existing shingles. Whats the best way to proceed in a climate such as Canaan Valley, WV? Any other suggestions? Have you heard of solar shingles and would they be worth considering?
Recent windstorms in New Jersey have caused me to lose some shingles in my asphalt shingle roofing. Others are damaged. What is the best way to replace asphalt roofing shingles?
Do you get a tax credit for 30 year roofing shingles?
I live in rural Oregon. Four roofing companies have come out and given us the once over on our shingle roof. Each recommended different shingles based on our pitch and 3-tab existing shingles. But none of the shingle companies offered warranties on algae damage. I heard we need this, since algae have damaged the roofs all around our neighborhood. Can you suggest a solution for a roof replacement that will last and is worth the effort?
