Several months after remodeling our bathroom, the grout in the tile floor is cracking and small chunks are breaking loose. We installed the tile and grout ourselves, as well as a layer of cement board underneath the ceramic tile. What is causing the grout to crack and how can we prevent it from happening again when we tile the kitchen floor? Thanks.
We are having a problem with cold outside air coming into our kitchen through the hood vent over our new Wolf oven/cook top. What can we do to eliminate this problem?
I own a home that was built in the late 1800's, and I have started updating the bathroom and the kitchen. As contractors, do you have any thoughts on how I might be able to plan and execute all of my home improvement projects on my own? I would like to try and save money by doing most the work by myself. Any help you can give me would be great!
I am in the process of tearing out my kitchen for a remodel and I am concerned I might be ripping out essential components of the walls. Should I rip the lapboard I see under the sheetrock out, or do I need to leave it in?
I would like install a new garbage disposal in my kitchen.
It took us six years to save $35,000 for a kitchen remodeling in our 70-year-old home. I'm so afraid we'll spend the money and not get what we want. What do kitchen designers charge for consulting, and how can they show us what it will look like?
My kitchen is U-shaped, 14-by-14, with tons of counter space on three sides, but a poor work triangle. I walk around the built-in island constantly. I'd like to ditch the island, move the refrigerator across the room near the range, and put a broom closet where the refrigerator is. I'd replace the vinyl flooring with tile, and put a round, 2-person bistro set in the middle. The range wall has no plumbing. With medium range choices, should my kitchen remodeling budget be $20,000, $30,000, or (hopefully not) more?
What would be the ballpark cost estimate for a 250 sq ft. full kitchen remodel, in midrange to highend, in Boston, Massachusetts?
There are lots of tall trees near my east-facing kitchen window which are great for shade but make the kitchen dark. Since I do home-schooling, the two 25-year old track light strips are kept on a lot. The window can't be enlarged. What's the most cost effective way to do a kitchen remodeling of just the lighting?
Hello, I am wondering if an electric wall oven requires venting to the outside. I have a client that refuses to replace their current old ovens because the new ones don't have exterior ventilation, and I am trying to find information about whether this is really required or not. I assume it isn't since most new models don't have this feature, but I don't have any explanation as to why not!
