How much will it cost to replace my living room floor to tile floors?

How much will it cost to replace my living room floor, and two bedrooms from wood floors to tile floors due to buckling? Roughly 1000 sq ft total. My floor in the living room and bedrooms have buckled to the point where it is dangerous for myself and my family. I am replacing the floors myself and need an estimated of how much it will cost to repair. I currently have wooden floors but plan on putting tile floor down to replace them.

In order to provide an accurate estimate for the cost of replacing your floor, you will need to pick out what you want. There is a very broad range for tile pricing from, $.99 sq/ft - $25 sq/ft. What the tile is going to be set over will effect the pricing. Is it a wooden sub-floor, or is it a slab? Depending on the type of underlayment you use, you can expect to spend $.75 - $1.50 sq/ft for underlayment materials. Thinset and grout for 1000 sq/ft of tile will cost approximately $200. Assuming you have wooden sub-floor, you can expect to pay approximately $3500 for the materials necessary to lay 1000 sq/ft of tile if you pick tile that costs $2.25 sq/ft.
