There are many factors that are going to affect the energy savings you may or may not realize. There is a wide range of quality when it comes to windows, to go from a very energy efficient dual-pane window to a low quality triple-pane window you may actually become less energy efficient. The way the windows are installed will affect the overall efficiency as well. It may also be a good idea to look at what you plan to spend and what you expect to save and see what kind of payback you are looking at. For example, if you are going to save 10% on you annual utility bill of $2000.00 that is an annual savings of $200.00. If you spend $5000.00 on the new windows you are looking at a 25 year pay back. This is just an example to get you thinking about how you will be spending and saving money with new windows. It is very difficult for me to actually say exactly what kind of savings you will realize in your situation, but any upgrade on window efficiency will save you money at the end of the year.
