I am a beginner researching(you tube) on how to install ceramic tiles on my kitchen floor(wood subfloor). I've started laying my underlayment(hardibacker 1/4 inch) 1/8 inches apart and allowing space around the walls also. I been told by a contractor that it isn't necessary to apply thinset under the underlayment. Should I stop and apply the thinset or keep going ? stillrhondagarner@yahoo.com

My home was built back in 2004. My husband and I decided not to get sidelites in addition to the standard front door. We now want to add sidelites to the entry way of our home. The house is a four-sided brick construction. We had an estimate done indicating that the remodel would be from $3000K-5000K.
We have a small 3BR/1BA house and would like to add a full bath onto the main level of our home. The new bathroom would be about 10'x10' and would be on a new slab foundation connected to the back gable end of the house. With new walls, a shed roof with asphalt shingles, and cedar lapp siding...how much should we budget for a project like this? Thanks in advance.
