The design plan of my new kitchen cabinets said the end of the cabinets would terminate with inches of wall space showing. When the cabinets were installed there was a whole foot of wall space. When I questioned my contractor, he said it's not his job to measure - it's my job. Is this true?
My kitchen cabinets are oak/particle board. The two lower cabinets by the sink are peeling and the finish has peeled away. Is there a way to fix this? I am afraid if I go to the effort to refinish them, they won't match the cabinets on the top.
I'm trying to install some new base cabinets in our kitchen. We have removed the old ones and discovered that the kitchen floor slopes towards the center of the room, which means that these new cabinets will be sloped too. How should I deal with this? If we prop up the cabinet, then the cabinets will not be resting on the floor and you'll see a gap. If I install them on the floor, then the counterops will not be level. Any ideas?
A leak started a few days ago and I placed a basin underneath to catch the water. I didn't anticipate the overflow and when I checked back a couple days later there was some water damage and some blackness. There was an inch or less of warping and some peeling. Does the entire base need to be replaced or can a piece of flush wood be placed a top of it or some kind of cover to protect the surface?
My kitchen is approximately 12' x 16'. How much should I budget for purchasing oak wood kitchen cabinets and their installation?
Our kitchen is extremely outdated and to save money, we are going to paint our hand crafted, wood cabinets. However, they are extremely long and I only have 12.5" from the countertop to the bottom of the wall cabinet. I would like to cut off the bottom portion of the cabinet. Is this possible?
What might it cost to add a double sink vanity to a bathroom? Currently there is a small vanity with a single sink in the bathroom?
My kitchen has a row of 5 base cabinets and 5 wall cabinets. What might it cost to have someone reface the cabinets with laminate? Thank you.
I need to hire someone to repair approximately 32 sq.ft of sheetrock that is behind my kitchen cabinets. I think that the sheet rock, as well as the insulation needs to be replaced. How much should I expect to pay for this type of repair?
Recently I moved into a freshly painted apartment. The kitchen cupboards were painted with oil base paint. All my dishes, glasses and food in the cupboards smell and taste like paint. What can I use to remove this smell? I'm pregnant and afraid of getting sick from this. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
